Last week we finally managed to get our act together and visit B.Y.O.C, a ‘bring your own cocktails’ bar in Covent Garden. The concept – take your favourite spirits along with you and the waiter will make personalised drinks for you at your table. (£20 per person)

We took gin, vodka and some Prosecco. The atmosphere of this tiny speakeasy was amazing, the room is lit by candle light with just enough space between the six tables for the vintage drinks trolley (stocking a huge variety homemade sugar syrups and fruit juices made in the juice bar upstairs) to rattle thorough. We also had great fun with the chalkboard walls in the toilet.

Despite the intimate setting and innovative concept we didn’t feel like the experience was ‘tailored’ as the website had described. We did try 3 delicious cocktail (and one salted caramel martini which didn’t go down too well) but the only question we were asked by the mixologist about our drinking preferences was ‘do you have any allergies’.

List of cocktail we tried:

Clover Club

‘The Cucumber One’

French 75

Slated Caramel Martini

Overall we really enjoyed out two hour session. If you’re planning a visit we would definitely recommend taking obscure spirits and challenging the concept.  And book early.
