The newest edition to William Chow’s line of Indochinese restaurants opened its doors to a crowd with rumbling-tummies in the heart of Soho. The launch of Banana Tree on Wardour Street saw an extensive tasting menu served alongside Asian inspired cocktails, the Mango Bellini was particularly delicious. We were presented with a series of popular mini-dishes before rounding off with a main course platter showcasing the mouth-watering Beef Rendang, an intriguing asain slaw and subtly spiced Tamarind Aubergine. This eagerly anticipated evening did not disappoint, the traditional Vietnamese ‘Pho’ left even the biggest chilli fans gasping for water whilst the succulent Malayasian Chicken Satay was a definite hit around our table. Conversation flowed in the relaxed atmosphere, definitely well worth a visit; Mr Chow himself may even come over and say hello!
